Win SchendelThe first Liberty Lecture of the 2019-2020 school year occurred on September 12, 2019 in the LCHS Great Hall. Liberty Common students, families, and other community members turned up in droves to listen to Mr. Win Schendel speak on his service during WWII. Schendel was the age of a junior-high student when forced to fight in Adolph Hitler’s German army. After surviving the war, he immigrated to the United States, settled in Fort Collins, and loves telling young people about the good and evil he’s seen over the course of his extraordinary lifetime.
