Colorado Classics Day
On Saturday, September 28, 2019 eighteen Liberty Common High School students and all four Latin instructors traveled to the beautiful University of Colorado - Boulder campus to attend Colorado Classics Day.

Colorado Classics DayDuring this annual event, Liberty scholars had the opportunity to listen to mini-lectures presented by CU professors on a wide array of topics including: Roman law, archaeology, food, mythology, architecture, and more.

After lunch, the state officers of the Junior Classical League, the majority of whom hail from Liberty, hosted miniature versions of the most popular and fun activities from the state convention. Activities included Certamen (the game show of the Ancient World), Laocoon’s Javelin (where the farthest forwards pool noodle throw wins), and Versipellis, a Latin version of the mystery game Mafia. Colorado Classics DayLiberty brought home two out of three prizes for the best classically inspired costume. This unique event was truly worthwhile and we are looking forward to heading back again next year. Join us.
